Boston College running back Andre Williams finished 4th in the Heisman Trophy voting, which was awarded to Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston on Saturday night. Winston received 668 first place votes and 2,205 total points. Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron finished 2nd with 79 first place votes, and Nothern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch finished 3rd with 40 first place votes. Williams had 29 first place votes and 470 points overall, edging out Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel with 421 overall points.
"I cannot explain the feeling that I have inside right now," Winston said. "I'm so overwhelmed. It's awesome."
Williams will finish his BC career on December 31st in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl.
