John Tsimis is waiting for his first offer to come in. Like so many other prospects he knows it will be a huge load off when that first offer comes.
For now there's not much Tsimis can do except visit schools, get his name out there, and prepare for camps and his senior season.
The 6-foot, 170-pound receiver from Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic visited Boston College's camp last summer and then made a return trip in the fall to watch the Eagles take on Florida State. That game wasn't pretty if you were an Eagles' fan, but it didn't hurt BC's standing with the Garden State junior.
"I was supposed to go to the junior day but I had basketball," Tsimis explained. "I'm going to be up there March 17.
"I get e-mails from them a lot and we talk on Facebook. There have been a lot of letters in the mail."
That would seem to indicate the Eagles are keeping close tabs on Tsimis. For his part, the Eagles are looking pretty good.
"I definitely have a lot of interest. It's a D-I football program and it's a really good school. That's what I'm looking for," he explained.
"I didn't really get to see much when I was up there before. I saw the field and the area around it but that was about it."
Bill McGovern has been recruiting Tsimis and he has told him he's anxious to meet with him one-on-one whenever he can make it to campus. As mentioned, that trip will take place in mid-March.
Who is showing the most interest in Tsimis?
"Probably Boston College, Princeton, UPenn and Duke," he said. "I don't have any favorites, though."
Tsimis noted that he has been invited to a couple of summer camps and combines but he isn't sure what he will be doing yet.
