Top Virginia DE holds BC offer

Boston College has already offered a number of top Class of 2013 prospects. One of these is defensive end Jonathan Allen of Ashburn (Va.) Stone Bridge, who turned in a memorable sophomore season and has since accumulated four offers. With the Eagles being one of his first offers, the staff has put itself into a good position with the talented rising junior.
After finishing his sophomore season with 65 tackles, 21 sacks and eight forced fumbles, Allen has reeled in offers from Boston College, Virginia, Wake Forest and N.C. State.

"Recruiting is good," said Allen. "I'm starting to get looks from some more schools. I'm hearing from Florida and Oklahoma now too."
During the summer, Allen attended a few camps, including N.C. State and the Top Gun event. He went into each camp with goals in mind.
"I think I performed well and my goals were to be rated as one of the best defensive linemen there," said Allen, who has limited visit plans for this fall at this point. "I might go up to Virginia, but that's it for right now."
While Boston College is one of Allen's early offers, he is still in the process of obtaining more information about the program and school.
"I've heard good things about them, but I haven't been to their school yet so I really can't say too much," said Allen, who mentioned that he hasn't had too much recent contact with the coaching staff.
Despite the lack of information regarding Boston College, Allen does know what he is looking for in a program.
"I'm looking for good academics, a nice environment and of course a chance to win," said Allen.
Allen also discussed the ongoing preparation for his junior season.
"I'm bigger than last year and I'm a lot stronger than before," said Allen, who also discussed his teams progress. "I think we can be better than last year once we work out a couple of things. We've made a lot of progress lately."
