Soto plans Boston College trip

Shakir Soto got the sweetest news on Valentine's Day.
The Wilkes-Barre (Pa.) G.A.R. Memorial defensive end landed his first offer from Boston College.

"That was my first one," Soto said.
"The first time they ever contacted me I got invited to junior day and then a couple weeks later they e-mailed me and said they have something interesting to talk with me about so I called them and they offered me."
Soto, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound prospect, has been offered by Boston College, Temple, Kent State and UMass so far and the Northeast Pennsylvania prospect is planning to take two visits this weekend.
He will visit Boston College and UMass and is definitely looking forward to seeing the campus and meeting with assistant coach Jeff Comissiong and the other coaches. Soto has mainly been talking with Comissiong but hopes to meet coach Frank Spaziani and the other BC coaches.
Soto was invited to Boston College's recent junior day but he couldn't make it because he was taking the SAT that day. That's why he's so excited about heading up there this weekend.
"I'm really interested in Boston College," Soto said.
"I want to see what the environment is like. The players aren't going to be there so I can't really talk to anyone there but I'm going to get a little tour and meet all the coaches and talk to them."
Other than his four offers, Soto said he's heard a lot from Rutgers and Maryland and could visit both of those schools soon.
Soto has also been invited to Illinois this spring but he's unsure whether he can make that trip.
