Ruffin might go to prep school

Charles Ruffin has been talking a lot with Boston College but because of SAT scores the Wrentham (Mass.) King Philip Regional athlete said prep school might be his best option.
"My SAT scores before were a few points too low so all the schools I was talking to before, the ones that were going to give me offers, there is a possibility it could still work out but kids have been committed and so I'm looking at some prep schools right now," Ruffin said.

"I could do that or wait to see what happens with track and try to double up with track and football but I think prep school is probably going to be the best decision right now."
Ruffin, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound prospect, said going to prep school might not be the worst decision because then he could get the necessary scores, improve his academics and get bigger and stronger for college football.
The King Philip Memorial standout said his coach has been talking to Boston College and some other programs about his situation and it's looking like prep school might be the best option.
"I want to graduate with a higher GPA and I'd be able to get a lot bigger and faster," Ruffin said. "It did disappoint me at first but it's not going to hurt.
"Coach (Sean) Devine talked to my coach about it and my coach told me. That was one of the first schools to talk about prep school.
"It's just like how things fall in place. Signing day is February and SAT scores take like two weeks to come in and the next SAT isn't until January."
Ruffin said the decision has not been finalized yet. He said he'll take the SAT as many times as possible and if he qualifies then things could open up in his recruitment.
If Ruffin needs to go to prep school then he said he's definitely planning to stay in New England. Connecticut, Syracuse and Villanova are a few other teams involved with him.
