Jack McDonald said he had a great time at Boston College last Thursday night for the Florida State game even though the Eagles lost and he's been a fan of the program for years.

The Dorchester (Mass.) Boston College High offensive tackle in the 2013 class was excited to just be at the game, talk with the coaches and since the Eagles are recruiting him he's keeping a closer eye on the program.
"It was a great game," McDonald said. "It was a really good time. We got to meet the coaches and talk to them, have a little dinner, and then go on the field so it was a good experience.
"I live in Quincy which is right next to Boston so I've always been a big Boston College fan and I've always been a fan of the school. I've looked into the school a lot. My sister is a senior and she's looking to go to school there so when she went to look at the school I went and I like the school a lot. I got to see the campus and I like it a lot."
McDonald, a 6-foot-5, 265-pound prospect, said he's corresponded a lot with Boston College's coaching staff and he intends to go to summer camp there. He'll also work out at Rutgers and a few other schools although his entire schedule isn't set yet.
"I've gotten a lot of letters and I've talked to them through e-mail so we've talked a lot," McDonald said.
"I wasn't able to go to their camp last year but I'm planning to go this summer, working out in the off-season and then be ready for camps."
Boston College's struggles this season have not hampered McDonald's interest in the program one bit. The local junior standout said he is confident in the coaching staff and has talked to some players who enjoy their experience on the team.
Plus, Boston College is such a solid academic school that McDonald said it will stay on his list throughout his recruitment.
"I know how good the coaching staff is and how good they are so it's not that big of a factor at all," McDonald said.
"I know they produce great players and I've heard from people it's still a great experience to play there and they love the team so it's not that big of a factor."
