Ishmael Hyman has a couple of offers and the New Jersey junior decided to check out the BC spring game on Saturday.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound receiver from Holmdel (N.J.) St. John Vianney has offers from Bowling Green and Old Dominion but he's hoping to add some BCS clout to his offer sheet.
What did he think of the spring game on Saturday?
"It was good," Hyman said. "The offense had just been put in so it was a little shaky at first but then it got going good. It seems like most of their players are injured right now.
"I talked to a lot of the coaches, like Coach Spaz and the new receivers coach who just came in a couple of months ago. I talked to Coach Smith and he's a nice guy."
Hyman said he had a chance to see the school and he thought everything was impressive. One plus, he said, was how most everything was in walking distance.
"They're definitely near the top," Hyman said.
Emphasis on "near" the top. That's because a Big Ten school seems to really have Hyman's interest.
"I like Penn State a lot," he admitted. "I visited there and I'm still going to look at some other schools but they're (BC) up there."
Hyman left town without an offer but they invited him to a summer one-day camp, which he plans on attending. He also wants to attend a camp at Penn State.
Rutgers and Florida have invited Hyman to camp but he's not sure whether he will make those. Everyone is recruiting Hyman as a receiver except Georgia Tech, who likes him as an A-Back in their triple option offense.
"I'm a receiver," Hyman insisted, however, seeming to rule out the Yellow Jackets.
