Grant close to final decision

Sam Grant is still committed to Boston College.
But the North Royalton (Ohio) St. Edward tight end said he plans to decide by the end of the week whether to stick with the Eagles or pick one of three other programs still under consideration.

Grant, who committed to Boston College in early June, said Wednesday that Arkansas, Oklahoma and Michigan are still being considered and he wants to finalize things over the next few days.
For Grant, it's been a difficult situation.
"Hoping to narrow it down by the end of this week," Grant said in a text message. "No decisions yet."
Rated as the No. 34 tight end in the 2012 class and No. 48 in the Ohio state rankings by Rivals.com, Grant was the second-earliest commitment for Boston College just behind four-stat offensive tackle and Christchurch, Va., standout Win Homer, who has never wavered in his commitment.
Grant committed in early June which was one of six pledges in that month for the Eagles. But in recent weeks it has become clear that other programs were trying to get involved with Grant and he has been open to listening.
In the next few days, Grant could be ready to make his final determination.
The choices are to stick with his commitment to Boston College, one he made more than six months ago, or switch to one of the three other programs that have gotten involved more recently.
