Eagles offer Ohio defensive end

John Stepec was a busy guy earlier this spring, visiting several schools that have offered and shown interest. He's never been to BC but until recently the Eagles hadn't offered.
That changed last week when Boston College threw their hat into the ring with an offer.

It's not that the Eagles have ground to make up, as the 6-foot-3, 246-pound defensive end from Mentor (Ohio) Lake Catholic doesn't have any favorites. He's just more familiar with the schools that he's been to.
"Over spring break I visited Purdue, Northwestern, Western Michigan, Miami-Ohio, Ball State and Cincinnati," Stepec recalled.
"Cincinnati was definitely a school that stood out. I really liked that trip. Northwestern and Ball State were good, too."
What's next for the Ohio junior?
"I plan on going out to see Minnesota and Boston College," he responded. "I don't know when.
"Boston College just offered me the other day, on Friday. They called and asked about what offers I had. Then he said, 'You can add BC to that (list).'"
Stepec admits he doesn't know much about the Eagles yet but that will change with his visit, which will probably come sometime during the summer.
The junior pass rusher said the number one factor in his decision will be the coaches at each of the schools recruiting him. Facilities and education are also important for Stepec.
