The Atlantic Coast Conference has named Boston College Eagles point guard Ky Bowman ACC Co-Player of the Week. Bowman was also named the Freshman of the Week in the conference a week ago.
Josh Okogie of Georgia Tech and Bowman share the honor this week. The two of them are also the only two Freshmen to have won the honor twice. Bowman scored 30 points and had nine assists in the Eagles lone game last week, a 15-point win over Syracuse.
Over the past three games Bowman is averaging 26.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists and ranks fourth in the conference in freshman scoring (11.8). The 6-foot-1 guard is one of only four freshmen in the entire country to have multiple 30-point scoring games this season, he's the only such in the conference.
Bowman shot .875 from deep against the Orange on Sunday. That ranks as the best in a ACC game this season (minimum five made) and his seven 3-pointers rank second in a single game in Conte Forum history.
Bowman is apart of the young talent that head coach Jim Christian and his staff has infused into the program amongst the rebuild.
To go along with Bowman's back-to-back honors, Eagles' other starting guard Jerome Robinson was named ACC Player of the Week two weeks ago. Robinson, a sophomore, leads the team in scoring.
The two BC guards are averaging 47.7 points combined in the last three games. They are also shooting 64-percent from the floor and 66-percent from deep.
The Eagles tip-off tonight against Wake Forest in their first true road game. BC is coming off back-to-back top 50 RPI victories over Providence and Syracuse.
