DT Montgomery will slow things down

Tevin Montgomery visited Boston College once again over the weekend and for a while he was tempted to set up a hectic schedule for the next couple of months.
He was thinking about visiting Penn State sometime soon with his close friend and fellow Massachusetts-native Maurice Hurst Jr., but he has decided against that.

"I was going to go down to Penn State with Mo but those plans changed and I'm probably going to stay and focus more on the SAT and ACT. I won't be taking a lot of visits during this time. In May, June and July I'll be going around trying to visit UConn, Rutgers, Penn State, probably BC again and maybe out to California."
Montgomery was at BC this past weekend with a good number of other recruits. How did that go for him?
"I liked it," he recalled. "I saw John (Montelus) and Maurice and Jack (McDonald) and it was good seeing them.
"We had an interview with the admissions guy and that interview went well. We spent some time with the players and that helped me see how they were. That's one of the key points in my decision. If you don't like the guys you're playing with that would be a problem. They all seemed pretty cool. They all speak very highly of the program."
The in-state recruits continue to discuss the possibility to staying close to home and making an impact in college.
"We do talk about that," Montgomery said with a laugh. "We imagine being at the same school. We'd be a pretty good team. We definitely talk about it, especially me and Mo. When I talk to John (Montelus) we talk about that also. Just recently I started talking to Jack more and it's the same thing with him."
Montgomery said he thinks he wants to make his decision sometime before the end of the summer.
Have the BC coaches pressured him to make a decision soon?
"No, I don't feel any pressure," he said. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime process and experience for me. I don't feel like I'm running out of time or need to rush. Schools are really interested in me and they're telling me to take my time."
