Class of 2019 phenom from Bergen Catholic on BC's radar

Boston College hasn't offered nearly as many Class of 2018 prospects as most other Power Five schools.

So when the Eagles offer a player from the Class of 2019, you'd better believe the staff feels strongly about him.

The staff certainly does seem to like Antonio Alfano a lot.

Though he's only a rising sophomore -- hence, a Class of 2019 recruit -- he recently picked up an offer from the Eagles.

Already 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, Alfano is a big-time defensive line target, a potentially devastating pass rusher, and a player who could be one of Bergen Catholic's top prospects in quite some time.

That helps explain the Eagles' offer, even if the offer is a bit out of character.

"I spoke to the coach Wednesday night," Alfano told Eagle Action. "Anthony Campanile. (He) liked my athleticism, toughness and me as a person. And my grades."

The good news for BC is the interest appears to be mutual.

"I like BC," Alfano said. "Beautiful campus, close to home, great academics, great coaching staff and tradition, known for it's defense (and) a lot of great NFL players have gone to BC."
