Big summer for BC pledge

When Harrison Jackson came to Boston College's summer camp it was mainly to get more exposure, never thinking he would entice the Eagles' coaching staff enough to offer him.
After talking with the staff and coming back for another unofficial visit, the Purcellville (Va.) Loudoun Valley wide receiver had found his home and quickly committed to the Eagles.

"Going into the camp my goal was to be the best player I could be and to give it my all every play," Jackson said. "I had 11 other colleges interested in me at the time going into the camp because it was more for the other colleges because BC never talked to me going into the camp.
"After the first day the coaches really started talking to me and we started building a friendship and a relationship. After I left the camp I had a great time talking to all the coaches and they wanted me to come back down for an unofficial visit. I came back down and gave them my commitment then."
Rated as the No. 28 prospect in the Virginia state rankings by Rivals.com, Jackson is a 6-foot-2, 181-pound recruit who has been timed at 4.6 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
Having his college decision out of the way before his senior season is great, Jackson said, so he doesn't need to stress about things. He's been keeping in close contact with the Boston College staff and is really focused on finishing his high school career on the right note.
"It's a blessing," Jackson said. "I am thankful every day just to wake up and know I'm going someplace after high school is over. My parents don't have to pay. It makes me happy and makes them happy and it makes me want to work even harder to become a better football player.
"They send me stuff in the mail, stuff telling me how they miss me and about what's going on at BC. I've been calling them almost every other day talking to them about what's going on with football. It's been great."
Through two-a-day practices and some scrimmages, Jackson said he's excited for his senior year. Although it's a youthful team, the Virginia prospect said things should go well.
"Everything is going great right now," Jackson said. "We just had our football scrimmage (Wednesday) with our team and that went well. Everybody is working hard and it's going great so far.
"We've been doing two-a-days. We have a young team but I still think we're going to be good. We just have to keep working hard. We have a lot of potential. We just have to keep working and we'll be fine."
