Another Washington in the pipeline

Several years ago, Alvin Washington helped solidify the defensive line for the Boston College Eagles. Now, his brother, Alex Washington of Columbus (Ohio) DeSales is doing the same at the high school level, and is hopeful that he too can continue his playing career in Chestnut Hill.
"Recruiting has been pretty decent," said Washington, who is 6-foot-2 and 290-pounds. "I can't complain. I'm just waiting to see how things pan out."

Washington has been receiving interest from Northwestern, Indiana and Air Force, but lately the majority of the interest has been coming from Boston College.
"I went to their camp over the summer," said Washington. "It went really well for me. I really like the coaching and the caliber of program that Boston College has. They have a hard schedule and play great competition."
As he mentioned, Washington is especially impressed with the coaching staff.
"I talk mostly to Coach Sirmans, but I've had contact with Coach Spaz and I've had a meeting with Coach Comissiong," said Washington. "I like them all a lot."
The fact that his brother, Alvin, played at BC already makes Alex very comfortable with the program.
"He played there when Coach O'Brien and Coach Willis were there," said Washington. "I grew up around the program. My brother is now coaching at Elon University in North Carolina."
Washington is hoping to take another visit to BC this fall.
"I'm trying to make it out there and a few other schools," said Washington. "But it's football season and my number one priority right now is my team, and as always school."
On the field, Washington is seeing action at several positions.
"I'm playing defensive tackle, nose guard a little, some offensive tackle here and there and some center," said Washington.
