Aka hoping for more BC interest

Considering defensive end Pierre Aka of Indianapolis (Ind.) Pike holds several offers, it is unusual that he has managed to stay under the radar for as long as he has. Aka is beginning to piece together his official visit schedule, while still hoping for a few new offers. One of the schools that he hopes pulls the triggers soon is Boston College, who is well aware of his talents.
"I'm scheduling officials and already got an Iowa State official set up for November 18th, on my birthday, when they play Oklahoma State, and I'm trying to get with the Minnesota coach and plan my official visit on October 22nd when they take on Nebraska," said Aka, who is 6-foot-4 and 250-pounds.

Aka currently holds offers from both Iowa State and Minnesota, plus "basically all of the MAC schools", and is expecting offers from Northwestern and Purdue in the near future.
Aside from this group of schools, Aka is hoping to get back in the picture with Boston College. The Eagles had been staying in consistent touch with Aka, but recently have pulled back some of their interest.
"I really like them," said Aka. "I'm an academics guy and it is a great school for me and I thought it fit me. And I'm Catholic, so that fits me too since it's a Catholic school."
His recruiting coach has been Coach Brock, who he had been speaking with weekly throughout the summer.
"I like him," said Aka. "He is a really nice coach."
With Aka hoping to hear more from BC in the near future, and with a few official visit spots still available, he discussed what he hopes to see and experience on these upcoming visits.
"Just the atmosphere and the feel of the people there," said Aka. "I already know that they're great academic schools, so now I just gotta find which one I feel more comfortable with."
One of the things that makes Aka so valuable is his versatility.
"Well Iowa State says I could either be an H-back or defensive lineman, or maybe an offensive lineman, and Minnesota wants me to play tight end," said Aka.
Finally, Aka discussed his senior season at Pike.
"We keep coming up short in each game, so we are 1-5 right now," said Aka. "The losses we had are by a combined 21 total points. On the defensive side of the ball I have nine tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. I haven't played defense too much, and only a few plays in the last five games. Mainly I play offensive line for my team since we are short on depth due to injuries."
