Virginia ATH Kemori Dixon Feeling Grateful for BC Offer

Danville (Va.) George Washington athlete Kemori Dixon is feeling grateful to Boston College these days.

The 6'1, 195-pound Class of 2024 athlete, who can play on either side of the ball but is currently being recruited more for defense than offense, picked up his very first offer from Boston College less than a week ago.

Louisville became the second school to offer Dixon that same day.

"They found out about me I guess through one of my coaches," Dixon told Eagle Action. "My coaches keep in contact for all my recruiting stuff so I guess they sent them an email or my film and were telling them about me. I guess with them being the first school to offer me they really must have been interested. I don't know how much my coaches were talking to them but a couple of days before I got the offer all the recruiting coordinators started following me on Twitter."

Naturally Dixon took notice, and when he asked his own coach about it he was told to just wait for a while.

"That day before practice he was telling me to hurry up and get there so I can call the coaches," Dixon said. "When me and Coach Duggan were on the phone we were just talking about life. He asked if I had any offers and then said he'd be happy to give me my first offer.

"It was a whole lot of excitement for me because where I'm from, your first offer is usually like D3 or prep school. This was D1 and Power Five. It definitely takes weight off my shoulders because you ask yourself if you're good enough to play college football and now you've got that offer."

Duggan relayed that he likes Dixon's physicality on the defensive side of the ball.

For his part, Dixon is now researching BC.

"From what I looked into, Boston College is a great school. It's a great defense. They're very good on defense. Not too bad on offense, but very good on the defensive side," Dixon said. "I have to get down there this fall to kick it with them. They're real big on family and getting to know each other. When I talked to Coach Duggan it was football for about two minutes. The rest was about life.

"I'll definitely be down there this fall."

Dixon said North Carolina, Florida, Virginia, Louisville, and Wake Forest are other schools he would like to visit.
