BC gives athlete first Power Five offer

Bo Melton added his second offer on Tuesday. It came from the Eagles.
It's even more significant because Boston College's offer is the first from a Power Five program.
EagleAction.com had been staying in touch with Melton behind the scenes recently, as coaches have been able to have contact with Class of 2017 recruits since the start of September.
As recently as the last week of October the Egg Harbor (N.J.) Cedar Creek athlete was expressing hopefulness that BC would be offering.
"They are saying they are very interested and they are going to officially (verbally) offer me soon," Melton had told EagleAction.com is a message dated October 28.
At that time Melton said that his lead recruiter has been Ben Albert. Also at that time and up to that point Melton had accounted for 1,110 all-purpose yards and 15 touchdowns.
He has played both running back and receiver this year as a junior.
The 6-foot, 180-pound athlete is built more like a receiver than a running back but he does have versatility.
Melton has told EagleAction.com that Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Virginia, Temple, NC State, Michigan State, Purdue, Notre Dame, Kentucky, West Virginias and Navy were among the other schools that had been in contact with him.
But only BC and ODU have offered, so it will be interesting to see whether that prompts a visit.
