Visit leads to high praise from QB

One of Boston College's quarterback targets had high praise for the school and the environment at the game he just attended.
Austin Burton, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound pro-style quarterback from Newton South, has an offer from UMass and he's waiting to see what else comes his way. If Boston College offers it would be meaningful, but Burton's just biding his time and hoping he's able to do enough to make that happen.
He was at the BC-Florida State game over the weekend and although the Eagles lost the in-state quarterback was very pleased with the game day atmosphere. So he left encouraged anyways.
"It was unbelievable," he said. "Even the locker room before the game with Coach (Steve) Addazio was just an awesome atmosphere and a great time."
Most recruits that have visited for BC games and spoken with EagleAction.com afterwards this year have cited Addazio's speeches as a highlight of their experience.
Beyond that, Burton noted that it was a combination of the team's excitement level and the atmosphere created by the fans that created a memorable impression at the game.
"The team was definitely hyped. It was an awesome game to be at," Burton said. "The stadium was packed. It's a big step up from high school football. It was great to be there."
As a quarterback, Burton knows the offense has room for improvement following a shutout. But he added that he thought the team collectively "played great".
"Florida State -- I think they ranked eighth or ninth in the country, and they were playing right there to their level," Burton said. "I thought they played a great game."
Burton noted that he's friends with "Mikey" (Michael Silva) and Blake Gallagher, and said they're actually two of his best friends. The three prospects got together before the game and the coaches guided them into the locker room.
Northwestern and Rutgers are two other schools that Burton wants to try to visit in the near future.
"I'll probably try to go to another (school), too," Burton added. "But we did just start school."
Burton has attended two BC home games already this year.
