Shorts picks up offer from Eagles

Daikiel Shorts had a conversation with the Boston College coaching staff in recent days, got an offer from the Eagles Monday and will start learning more about the school and the program as he plans to visit sometime this summer.
Shorts is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound athlete from Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy who said he's definitely interested in Boston College and would like to play receiver for the Eagles.

"I don't know too much about them right now," Shorts said. "The coach was explaining the school to us and it sounds like a great school and they have a pretty good coaching staff. He said they get after it.
"I'm looking to take some visits up there. Maybe this summer I can go to a one-day camp."
Shorts, who also has an offer from Temple, said he told the Boston College coaching staff he'd really like to play wide receiver there and that shouldn't be a problem.
Getting up to campus over the next few months is important to Shorts, who said he's seriously considering the Eagles and really wants to do more research as his recruitment continues.
"They said I can come in as an athlete," Shorts said. "I told the coach I'd like to come in as a receiver and he said I could play receiver.
"That's really important to get up there. I want to learn more about the school but I've never been to Boston College so I want to get up there, talk to the coaches and see what the facilities are like."
Penn State, Maryland and Connecticut might also be close to offering Shorts, who said North Carolina and NC State are also showing a good deal of interest.
