Season Opener Time Announced

Boston College football will kick off its 2013 campaign against Villanova on Saturday, Aug. 31 at noon at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass., according to an announcement made by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Thursday.

The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN3.
The meeting will mark the first between the teams since 1980 and the 46th in series history. The Eagles are 29-15-1 against the Wildcats in the series that dates back to 1922. BC has a 22-9-1 home record against Villanova.
The Eagles' ACC opener against Wake Forest on Friday, Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
In additional ACC news announced by the conference on Thursday, the 2013 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game, which will be played for the fourth consecutive year in Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium, is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, and will have a nationally televised kickoff time of either 7:45 p.m. (on ESPN) or 8 p.m. ET (on ABC).
