BC will host league foes Pittsburgh (Friday, Sept. 5), Clemson (Oct. 18), Louisville (Nov. 8) and Syracuse (Nov. 29). The Eagles' non-league home dates are against USC (Sept. 13), Maine (Sept. 20) and Colorado State (Sept. 27, Parents' Weekend).
Boston College will open the season Aug. 30 in a game hosted by Massachusetts at Gillette Stadium before playing four straight home games in the month of September. The Eagles will square off against the Pitt Panthers in their home and ACC opener at Alumni Stadium before a national audience on Friday, Sept. 5 on either ESPN or ESPN2. BC and Pittsburgh were longtime Big East Conference rivals who will play one another for the 30th time in series history, yet for the first time in a decade.
Next, the Eagles will host the Trojans, who went 10-4 and concluded the season ranked No. 19 in the final AP poll, on Sept. 13, marking the first of three straight home non-league matchups. On Saturday, Sept. 20, BC will host Maine before wrapping up September's four-game slate with a Sept. 27 game against Colorado State, which beat Washington State in the New Mexico Bowl to finish 8-6. The Rams and Eagles have met just once before, a 35-21 BC victory in the 2003 Diamond Walnut San Francisco Bowl.
Following an Oct. 11 date against NC State in Raleigh, the Eagles will host the Orange Bowl Champion Clemson Tigers on Oct. 18. Clemson finished 11-2 last fall and was ranked No. 8 in the final AP poll. Consecutive road games at Wake Forest (Oct. 25) and Virginia Tech (Nov. 1) are followed by a Nov. 8 home game against Louisville. The Cardinals, who were 12-1 and ranked No. 15 in the final AP poll following a victory over Miami in the Russell Athletic Bowl, officially join the ACC on July 1. The game will mark the seventh meeting between the teams and the first since 1998.
BC will play defending national champion Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla., on Nov. 22. The 2014 regular-season schedule concludes at home against Syracuse on Nov. 29.
