Richardson picks BC

BC's class is one step closer to being a finished product with Max Richardson's commitment.
Numbers are so tight, it's easy to conclude that the Boston College coaching staff must have really felt good about Richardson, a three-star linebacker from Georgia. They can afford to be picky.

Richardson, a 6-foot, 225-pound inside linebacker from College Park (Ga.) Woodward Academy, visited Boston College over the weekend and announced his commitment to the Eagles on Thursday.
Earlier in the day Richardson had spoken with EagleAction.com, confirming his choice had been made. He had not spoken with head coach Steve Addazio yet. That happened around 6 p.m. EST, making official what had already basically happened.
Don Brown and Al Washington were also instrumental in bringing the Peach State prospect on board.
"I felt like it's a tightly knit family type of ball club," Richardson said. "I feel like the city of Boston is a family-type city. Really those were the main aspects for me."
Richardson and his father visited BC over the weekend, on both Saturday and Sunday. That extended visit gave him the opportunity explore all aspects of student-athlete life at the Heights. Needless to say, he was impressed.
"They had offered me during spring football, I think in early May," Richardson said, indicating he didn't wait long to set up that visit.
Distance didn't hurt the Eagles' chances.
"It's one plane flight," he said. "I want to experience new things, so that'll be great."
The Eagles emphasized the linebacker tradition at the school, notably with Luke Kuechley. And Richardson added that he is a big fan of Don Brown's defensive philosophy.
Richardson's weekend visit was his first trip to BC.
