Marfo Talks BC Visit

Last week, Worcester Academy/BABC power forward Kevin Marfo announced that he was cutting his list down to Boston College, DePaul, George Washington, Providence and URI. Last weekend, Marfo chose to make his first official visit stop to BC.
Marfo was at BC on Friday and Saturday and was in attendance for BC's showdown against FSU on Friday night. While the game was entertaining for Marfo his objective was to see what BC had to offer and the big man said they did little to disappoint.

"It was pretty cool. Coach Christian did a good job welcoming me and showing me around. He introduced me to some teachers and business directors," said Marfo.
The 6'8" power forward also got to spend some time hanging out and playing with the BC players. That was the part of the trip he seemed most enthusiastic telling about.
"The team was really cool. They treated me like I was a part of the team already. It was a really good vibe. They have a lot of young guys on the team and everybody around the program is motivated to put BC on the map," said Marfo.
BC has been recruiting Marfo for most of the year, especially ever since offering him in June. Still, Marfo said there was a big thing he learned on his trip that he didn't know going in.
"I didn't know much about the skill development that the coaches do. The coaches are working here so that everyone there is getting better. I like that part of the program," said Marfo.
Marfo played it close to the vest when asked if his top five had changed at all since his BC visit. "It's pretty much the same," said Marfo. The next stop will be another quick trip from his school in Worcester as he will visit Ed Cooley and the Friars. Friars coach Brian Blaney has been the lead recruiter for Marfo and has Marfo pretty excited for the trip.
"I've visited Providence unofficially but I never got to really see the campus. I'm excited to check everything out and see what kind of vibe I feel down there," said Marfo.
Marfo said he has no other official visits planned at this point but isn't in a rush to make a decision.
