Junior OL closing in on offer

Holding four early offers, junior offensive lineman Marcell Lazard of Bloomfield, N.J. is shaping up to be one of the top offensive line prospects in the region next year. While BC has yet to offer, Lazard did camp in Chestnut Hill during the summer, and seems to be getting closer and closer to receiving one from the Eagles.
"Recruiting is going great," said Lazard, who is now 6-foot-6 and 293-pounds. "I've been getting so much mail. I have three shoe boxes full so far."

Picking up summer offers from Maryland, Connecticut, Virginia and Buffalo, Lazard is optimistic that he will soon add to this total.
"I think I should have some new ones by the end of this year," said Lazard. "I'm getting a lot of interest from Rutgers, West Virginia, Boston College and all the schools who offered me."
Lazard has yet to attend a game this fall, but has three scheduled for the next month.
"I'm going to the Rutgers game this week," said Lazard. "Then I'm going to a West Virginia game in a couple of week and the same for BC."
Having camped at BC during the summer, Lazard is familiar with what the program has to offer.
"It's a great school with a great staff and with amazing academics," said Lazard. "I've been getting recruited by Coach Dawson and he is a cool guy."
While Lazard has been to BC before, his upcoming visit will be his first opportunity to see a game day atmosphere.
"I just want to see how their student body is and just experience the stadium filled," said Lazard.
Finally, Lazard gave a quick update on his junior season.
"So far it's a great season," said Lazard. "My run blocking and pass blocking have improved from last season."
