DECISION COMING: OL/DL Banks will make choice soon

Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic is already home to one Boston College commitment in linebacker Vinny DePalma.

Could the school also sent offensive guard Khristopher Banks to the Heights?

EagleAction.com caught up with the 6-foot-4, 280-pound offensive guard after he turned in what was, according to program sources, one of the better camps of BC's summer thus far.

Banks has an offer from Boston College, plus others from Rutgers, Temple, Buffalo, CMU, JMU, Kent State, Marshall and UCF.

He told EagleAction.com that he was "pretty good" at BC's camp. Mostly, Banks said, he showed the coaches that he "could play with a motor."

"I played with a motor because I wanted to show the coaches that I really want this offer," he said.

And why is BC's a coveted offer for Banks?

"It was a beautiful campus when I went up for the junior day and I remembered that," he said. "And I knew they have great academics and good football there."

While Banks is listed as an offensive guard, he told EagleAction.com that he actually worked out as a defensive tackle with Paul Pasqualoni.

"Others are recruiting me as both (an offensive and defensive lineman) but they really like that I'm versatile," Banks continued. "The position really doesn't matter to me. I just want to play high-level college football.

"Working with Coach Pasqualoni was great. I've always looked at him as a great coach. When I came down for camp last year I looked at him as a great coach. Most of his thing is teaching. You can do the drill good. You don't have to be the best every single time, but he wants you to be focused on technique. That's the thing I like best about him."

Banks has been busy this summer, making other stops at Rutgers and Temple.

He wants to visit UCF and James Madison before the end of the summer.

He broke some news with EagleAction.com during the weekend's conversation.

"I haven't put out a favorites list or anything but I have some schools that I have in mind...some schools I'm focusing on a little more. Not a lot, and I'm always open. But the schools I'm really focused on are Boston College, Temple and Rutgers," he said.

What's more, Banks is intent on making a decision in the very near future.

"It should be in the next couple of weeks," he said. "I'll sit down with my family and my parents and we'll have the final word."
