BC Announces Mid-Year Enrollees

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Two University of Florida graduates - quarterback Tyler Murphy and offensive lineman Ian Silberman - have transferred to Boston College for the spring (2014) semester and five freshmen - offensive lineman Jon Baker, defensive back Allen Dawson, defensive end Harold Landry, quarterback Darius Wade and defensive back Isaac Yiadom - have enrolled at the school for the spring (2014) semester, according to an announcement made by head coach Steve Addazio.

All seven players will be eligible to play in the 2014 season. Murphy and Silberman each enter their final year of eligibility.
Murphy is a 6-foot-2, 206-pound quarterback who started six games for the Gators in 2013. He completed 112-of-185 passing attempts for 1,216 yards and six touchdowns. He also recorded three rushing touchdowns. A native of Wethersfield, Conn., Murphy saw action in 12 games during his four-year career at Florida (2010-13).
Silberman is a 6-foot-5, 303-pound offensive lineman who appeared in eight games, including four starts, this past season for the Gators. He is a native of Fleming Island, Fla., who registered seven starts and appeared in 20 games during his four-year career at Florida (2010-13).
Baker is a 6-foot-3, 295-pound offensive lineman from Millis, Mass. A two-time Tri-Valley League Lineman of the Year (as a sophomore and junior) who has twice served as team co-captain, Baker started 41 games and helped lead Millis to Tri-Valley League small titles in 2011 and 2012. He earned Boston Globe All-Scholastic honors in 2012 and 2013.
Dawson is a 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He is a 2013 graduate of Pine Crest High School who recently helped lead Cheshire (Conn.) Academy to an 8-1 record during a postgraduate season in 2013.
Landry is a 6-foot-2, 225-pound defensive end from Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville, N.C. An All-Mid-South 4A Conference second-team honoree last fall, Landry registered 96 tackles, including 15 tackles for loss and 17 sacks (101 yards) this season.
Wade is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound quarterback from Middletown High School in Middletown, Del. A first-team All-Delaware State honoree who earned Offensive Player of the Year honors last fall, Wade helped guide the Cavaliers to consecutive Delaware State championships the last two seasons. In 2013, Wade completed 101-of-147 passes for 1,933 yards and 27 touchdowns. He also rushed 49 times for 197 yards.
Yiadom is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound defensive back from Doherty Memorial High School in Worcester, Mass. Through six games in 2013, he recorded 54 tackles, one forced fumble and one interception. On the offensive side of the ball, Yiadom registered 21 receptions for 594 yards.
