BC adds scholarship kicker

College football programs sometimes go two or three years between adding a scholarship kicker or punter to its ranks.

This week Boston College found a kicker that it hopes will be featured prominently in future seasons.

Lytton Connor is a 6'2, 195-pound kicker from Christiansburg (Va.) Radford and a member of the Class of 2021. He announced his commitment to Boston College on Monday evening.

National Kicking Rankings, one of the few groups that specializes in the public evaluation of kicking prospects, ranks Connor the No. 1 placekicker in the '21 class.

Lytton carries a 4.0 grade point average.

Connor has an established leg and the video below, though in a controlled setting, shows him connecting from 57 yards out in practice. He booted a go-ahead 48-yard field goal through the uprights in a game against Glenvar last season.

Connor is also a punting prospect although he's better known for his placekicing.

Florida State, Arizona, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, and a long list of other programs were also interested in Connor.
