College football teams can never have too many playmakers and the Buckeyes got the pledge of one of the nation's best playmakers when Brooklyn (N.Y.) wide receiver Curtis Samuel picked Ohio State over Rutgers and at least a dozen other offers according to Erasmus Hall head coach Danny Landberg.

"He's committed," Landberg told BuckeyeGrove.com via text. "Done Deal Ohio State."

The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder is ranked in the Rivals250 as the No. 116 player in the nation and is ranked as the No. 2 player in New York (only behind current Ohio State target, DT Thomas Holley). Samuel made a last round of visits to Ohio State (Friday Night Lights) and Rutgers and made his decision in advance of his senior year of high school and is happy to be done with the process.

There had been a lot of speculation that Samuel would make a final trip to Ohio State at the end of this week but a high school coach went in his place and Samuel had gathered enough information on his own to make a decision that he was happy with and in turn made all of Ohio State's fans extremely happy.

Urban Meyer was personally involved in the recruitment of Samuel and see the new Buckeye being used like a former star of his at a previous stop on his coaching resume.

"Schools are recruiting me as like a running back/slot back guy," Samuel said in a previous interview with BuckeyeGrove.com. "I think I have great vision, speed, and the ability to make plays. (Meyer) just says that I would fit in well with the offense. With the type of abilities I have, he said I'm a Percy Harvin type of guy and that he knows that I'm capable of making big plays."

Samuel put up big numbers as a junior with 91 rushing attempts for 1,047 yards ands 13 touchdowns on the ground and with 20 receptions for close to 300 yards and six TD's via the air.

The Buckeyes now sit at 17 commitments in the class of 2014.

We will have more on Samuel's decision for the Buckeyes and a breakdown of his future impact for Ohio State.
