KPL Elected, Amidon Snubbed

The 2013 Preseason All-ACC Football Team was announced on Wednesday and BC's only player elected was Kevin Pierre-Louis. The senior linebacker got the 3rd most votes among linebackers, edging out teammate Steele Divitto for the last linebacker spot on the team.

Although it wasn't a total shock that only one BC player got elected, most thought that the lock for the All-ACC Team would be wide receiver Alex Amidon. The senior wide receiver is the leading returning receiver in the ACC (78 receptions for 1,210 yards), which apparently wasn't enough to get him voted onto the team. Amidon finished behind Clemson's Sammy Watkins and Wake Forest's Michael Campanoro in the voting.

While it wasn't surprising that Watkins had more votes than Amidon it was certainly surprising to see Campanoro get more votes. Amidon had one less reception than Campanoro last year but had 447 yards receiving more than the Wake wideout. Amidon averaged almost 6 more yards per reception than Campanoro as well.

The biggest shocker might be that Amidon didn't finish in the top four for wide receiver voting. Florida State's Rashad Greene (57 receptions for 741 yards) and Maryland's Stefon Diggs (54 receptions 848 yards) both garnered more votes than Amidon.

BC had no offensive players voted in the top four. The results for each position are below:
