Yocum plans to come back to BC

Kyle Yocum has already been to Boston College one time and the Reading (Pa.) Exeter Township Senior prospect is planning at least two more trips in the coming months.

It's safe to say Yocum has serious interest in the Eagles.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound quarterback plans to return this spring to talk more with offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Doug Martin - and to watch the spring game - and then he'll return in the summer hoping to land an offer.

That's the plan now for Yocum, who also will stop at Connecticut during the spring, and he's definitely looking forward to his trips.

"It's going to be cool to go back up there and visit again," Yocum said. "As I said before, those were two of my top choices right there. The whole area around those schools is great and the coaching staffs at both schools are great, too. It will be very exciting to get back up there.

"Boston College is going to be a one-on-one visit with the coaching staff. I'm going to visit with coach Martin and he's going to show me around a little bit, talk football with him and that should be exciting. I am also going to watch the spring game."

The message to Yocum about an offer has been made clear: The Boston College coaching staff wants to see him throw in person at summer camp. The Pennsylvania recruit is fine with that and is looking forward to the opportunity.

"I have to throw and it's probably going to be that I work for that offer at summer camp," Yocum said. "Doug Martin told me they just want to see me spin it and then they could talk more about an offer.

"Even if something doesn't come right then I'm going to work just so that it does happen. Whatever I need to do to get that offer, I'm going to do it. That's how I've been trained my whole life. That's something my parents have engrained into my mind. If you work and do it right then you can do anything."

Yocum, who also lists interest from NC State, Penn State, Pitt and Temple, was at Boston College's junior day and loved his trip to Chestnut Hill. He plans to get much more familiar with the place in the coming months.

"What really brought that school to my attention is how they really care about you as a player overall with school, with academics, and the football field," Yocum said. "They really came at you like a human being. That family feel of Boston College really interested me in that school."
