Ohio ATH jumps on board

Bryce Jones has been talking up Boston College for weeks and on Sunday the Ohio athlete ended his recruitment with a verbal commitment to the Eagles.

It shouldn't come as a huge surprise. After all, Jones had narrowed his list down to Boston College, Air Force and Northern Illinois. That was the order of his list of favorites after his official visit to Air Force last week.

After leaving the Academy, Jones was still saying that a good trip to BC would probably result in a commitment. Well, that's exactly how things played out.

"The coaches didn't push me to make (a commitment) but I did after the visit," Jones told EagleAction.com on Sunday evening while waiting in the airport to return home.

"Pretty much it was everything about Boston College. I loved everything about the campus and it was my number one choice coming into the visit. The only thing holding me back was I wanted to see the campus and make sure it fit me.

"I had a great time meeting all the coaches and the players."

As you might expect Jones found the college experience to be very different at Boston College than the one he saw at Air Force the previous week. Nonetheless, he saw positives to both and said he still regarded the Falcons highly in spite of his commitment to the Eagles.

How will BC be using the Cleveland Heights (Ohio) athlete?

"They've recruited me as a field corner. Basically just more of a coverage corner that will be on the strong side of the field," Jones said.

Earlier Jones had said he would like to take an official visit to Northern Illinois. Will that still be happening?

"I'm not completely sure," he said. "Coach Sirmans is coming up to Heights on Tuesday so I'm going to talk to him about it and see what he thinks."
