Junior QB has interest in the Eagles
Eddie Printz is still only a high school junior but he has drawn great reviews from college coaches and those who have seen him in action. With a dozen verbal offers to choose from already he figures to be one of the South's top quarterbacks in next years class.
As you will recall, EagleAction.com reported that BC had sent a junior day invitation to the Marietta (Ga.) Lassiter quarterback.
Printz's father, Ed Printz, Sr., told us shortly after that his son would not be able to attend.
"He was invited but unfortunately we had scheduled the SAT for that time," his father said.
While Printz can't make this first junior day it's very possible that he could be at BC down the road. The reason? BC is the kind of school he would be interested in.
"Eddie's going to go someplace with great football and good academics," Printz, Sr., continued. "He's a bright kid. That's not just his dad talking. I haven't had to tell him to do homework since fourth grade. His goal is to make bank after college.
"Coach Siravo is probably going to be coming down the second or third week of January. He's doing his rounds. They can make academic visits to look at transcripts and things like that, so he'll be here for that."
Printz attended the Semper Fi game and visited Arizona while he was in the area. This coming weekend he will be at UCLA and the 6-foot-4, 195-pound pro-style quarterback will probably see many more schools before all is said and done.
Printz's father estimates he has between 12 and 14 offers. It's tough to tell because the recruiting picture has shifted so much.
"The offer picture is changing because of coaching turnover," he said. "As coaches are leaving he might not have an offer from that school but he might get one from a new one."
Printz wants to major in sports marketing and hopes to manage major sports arenas after his playing days are over.
