Darling Has 50-year Connection to Norman
For three consecutive summers Jordan Darling has been a fixture at Oklahoma's annual early June camps. The young quarterback has grown up working with Sooner quarterbacks coach, and now co-offensive coordinator, Josh Heupel. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound prospect has spent his first three years of high school bouncing around a bit due to his mother's military assignments.
However, his reasons for frequent trips to Oklahoma weren't completely surprising to those in his family.
"Actually, my grandfather (on his mother's side) played for Oklahoma. He played for coach (Bud) Wilkinson. Actually he originally went to Texas A&M and he transferred in from A&M under coach Bryant, and went to Oklahoma in 1959 and 1960."
