Belfort looks for SU offer

Staten Island (NY) Tottenville wide receiver Malique Belfort has seen his teammates receive scholarship offers from Syracuse and even commit to the Orange. Right now he is waiting for his chance to play at Syracuse.

"Syracuse, they are, not too heavy. I love Syracuse and I have met Coach [Doug] Marrone more than once. I just love the family oriented, football loving system they have up there. I would like to gain more interest from them. They are definitely one of my favorite schools."

Belfort, 6-foot-4, 171 pounds will be ready to put on a display in attempts to receive an offer from Syracuse this summer.

"I am actually going up to Syracuse for a one day skill position camp soon."

The Empire State product went on to talk about what he thinks makes him a division one football player.

"I think I was blessed with great size, 6-foot-4, 171 pounds, and I'm a fierce competitor. I embrace competition. I have great and reliable hands that I know can help me excel on the college level. I also look at m self as a leader, someone that can not only be a game changer, but lift teammates up when the chips are down."

Right now there are a handful of programs looking at Belfort and he also holds a couple offers at this time.

"I am being looked at by Alabama, Virginia Tech, Towson University, Penn State, Nebraska, and West Virginia," Belfort said. I have verbal offers right now from Boston College and Temple."

A decision will not come soon as Belfort will weigh all of his options.
