BC Recruiting Reed

Boston College has not picked up a basketball commitment from the state of New Jersey since Corey Raji committed back in 2008. The BC staff hopes that Davon Reed is the next player to commit from that state.

Reed is a 6'5" long, athletic shooter that is capable of getting to the rim pretty well too. The guard is admitting that he's working on his ball handling and build so that he can be a good all around guard.

Reed's shooting is his skill that's drawing him the most attention at the moment. Right now, Reed holds offers from 19 different schools. Along with BC, the schools paying the most attention to him are "Virginia (no offer), Miami, Harvard, Wake Forest, St.Joseph's, Xavier, Temple, LaSalle, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Northwestern, Cincinnati, Towson, Drexel, West Virginia, and VCU."

Last month, BC was one of the latest schools to offer Reed, along with Miami and Cincinnati. BC has gotten the attention of Reed as they've taken the opportunity to watch him play over the last few months.

"I'm hearing from Coach Waheed the most. He has been down a few times to see me play. He has been recruiting me pretty heavily," said Reed.

It seems that BC will have their heaviest recruiting competition from within their own conference, as two schools have emerged as places that Reed has interest in visiting.

"I don't have any visits established yet. I'm thinking about going down to Wake Forest and UVA. Then I might possibly make my way up north to more schools," said Reed.

Reed says that there are a lot of things to consider as eh works toward picking a school in the fall. However, there are characteristics of a school that he will look for more than others.

"I want to find a place where I can get a good education. I want to major in sports medicine. Right now I'm looking for a school that has a good program in sports medicine. Also I want to find a place where I can progress as a player and win a National Championship," said Reed.
