Terrell Picks Up New Offer

When second year Boston College associate head coach Joe Jones decided to put his name in the mix for the Boston University job, he had as good a chance as anyone else. The former Columbia coach ultimately got the job, beating out quality candidates such as former Eagles coach Al Skinner. As Jones depars from BC to BU, one of the lead recruiters for the Eagles is now gone with the July live evaluation period just a few days away.

Jared Terrell, a 2014 shooting guard, who recently reclassified and transferred to New Hampton, was mainly recruited by Jones. Did the departure of Jones hurt BC's chances of landing Terrell?

"I'm sad that coach Jones has departed," Terrell stated. "Congratulations to him, though. I wish him the best of luck at BU. BC is my hometown school and I'm still interested in them recruiting me."

Boston College was the only school to offer Terrell prior to Jones leaving for BU. Earlier in the week, Cincinnati joined the list and became the second school to offer. Now at the shooter is also hearing from, "UConn, Providence, Rutgers, DePaul, Seton Hall, Villanova, Tennessee, Temple, Florida State, Rhode Island, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Miami (FL), Texas, Alabama, UMass and Washington." With no favorites at this point, Terrell looks to go into the summer as a man on a mission.

Terrell averaged 17 points and 7 assists in his freshman year at Weymouth in Massachusetts. Now, he will repeat the same grade and head to prep school to play under Pete Hutchins. This summer, Terrell will play with Expressions Elite. "I'm trying to mirror what (Expressions greats) Khem Birch and Ricardo Ledo paved for the program," he stated.

A fast and athletic shooter, with a great mid-range shot, Terrell is an extremely hard worker. A gym rat at heart, the 2014 star believes that his leadership skills and work ethic will take him far and into the next level. While he must improve as an on the ball defender, he can shoot the lights out. Terrell needs to learn how to create better for his teammates on offense. This will make him a very versatile and dimensional player.

All and all, the summer looks to be a huge one for Jared Terrell and Expressions Elite, as they will take on the top competition. As two scholarships have already been offered his way, he could add five to ten by summers end.
