Who would have foreseen this at the beginning of the season?

Interesting that Merrimack is tied with UNH for second in Hockey East (behind BC by only one point) but ranked only 19th nationally behind BC, UNH, BU, and UMass Lowell. Merrimack is 2-4-3 outside of Hockey East which might tell us something about Hockey East this year.

They are the Union of 2013. No chance at NCAA championship.

Someone has to win that league every year, right?  No NCAA titles since Harvard in '89, right?  How many Frozen Four teams since then?  SLU in '99, Cornell in '03 and Union last year?  That SLU team was pretty good.  What year did we knock out Yale in Worcester 8-7?  That team could skate but had horrific goaltending.

Let QU be #1 for awhile, good for their program but in collegiate hockey there is a tournament to determine a champion and sooner or later Quinnipiac will run into BC, Minnesota or some other traditional heavy and it will be Bye, Bye #1.

I was at LGA about a month ago having a burger and beer while waiting for my flight. A kid sits down next to me and starting talking. Find out he's from Vancouver and is a 5th year senior hockey player for quinnipiac. Good kid. Knocking out his first year of a paid for MBA. tells me they're ranked 5th and had won 13 in a row. I'm shocked and having a good time talking hockey with this kid. All he wants to do is talk about business. He's a 4th line winger and said they have brought in some studs the past few years. Says lots of scouts at the games with rink being accessible from ny and boston. Brand new rink in Hamden that seats 3500 and sells out.

Anyway, a very good kid and needless to say ive been watching this team since. They haven't lost since I spoke to him and now have 21 straight without a loss.

The 2nd seed that ends up in their bracket is going to the Frozen Four.

They have a lot of Canadians on the team. When you get to the Regionals and the final 4-who knows. B.C. has had some terrible games this year. Article in the N.Y. Times today about them playing an up-tempo game. I would think Minnesota is the the favorite but who knows.
