ice advantage, when they barely get into the NCAA's?

Don't have a problem with it as BC could host if they wanted to also. However BC is more intent on hosting Basketball at the Garden. There are lots of perks for host schools such as preferred seating which the big donors really like. Schools can only host one event a season I believe so it cannot be both Basketball and Hockey. Wonder if Brad Bates will change this to include a Hockey host once in a while? There is a lot of preparation involved in hosting so schools that do host deservedly get some advantage. Conte is just a little below the regional threshold but not by much and with the way regionals have drawn a full Conte would be better than most other sites that have held regionals. The Garden would probably be too big and expensive to hold a regional without guaranteed big names playing.

No real suitable venue for BC to host, or BU for that matter. BU used to host at the DCU Center but the city of Worcester passed a law a few years back that only schools located in Worcester can host NCAA events there (Holy Cross hosts now when they play the regional there). In the immediate Boston area you don't really have any place to host, Conte is too small and the Garden is too big.
Agree that I'd like to see the conferences host--maybe HEA, B1G, and NCHC host every year with the fourth spot alternating between the ECAC and WCHA.
