Vermont Edges BC 3-2 | by Bob Van Wert The script was the same for Sunday afternoon as it was for Saturday night- hard skating, sharp passing, good defense and the ability to take advantage of opponent's mistakes. This time however, the starring role went to Vermont and the Catamounts lasted out a 3-2 victory over Boston College at the Conte Forum. Right from the opening faceoff the Catamounts had the Eagles back on their heals, pressing the play in each zone and scoring the opening goal at 2:44 into the game, just a reversal of Saturday night when the Eagles opened the scoring at 2:45 of the first period.[more] | |
BC Pounds Vermont 7-1 | by Bob Van Wert It would take a real cynic, or maybe a BU fan, to find fault with Boston College's squashing of the University of Vermont at the Conte Forum Saturday night. With the final 7-1 score, The Eagles hardly resembled the team that lost in Vermont 4-1 earlier in the season in a dismal effort that produced nothing but question marks about this season's Eagles. This time the passes were on target, the skates must have been sharper, checks were finished, the young defense played like a bunch of veterans and six players scored goals in a total team effort.[more] | |
